We build software products to empower lives and businesses. That’s sounds great but what you may want to know is how we do it. That’s what sets us apart in our biased opinion.
Our Values
These values are the mantra that is imprinted on our hearts and minds, against which every possible course of action is measured. They are the litmus test of all our decisions while engaging with our products.
Objectivity
At Onooli, we believe that most problems in life, if not all, stem from a really narrow root. However the noise that surrounds this root tends to be overwhelming, making it hard to see the real problem.
When we approach our products with objectivity in mind, we are able to cut through the noise and head straight for the root. Find that root and we are halfway the solution. Take out the root and what remains is our solution.
Empathy
This is the hard part. The part where we put ourselves out of the picture and let our users take center stage. That point where we have to dissolve most of the technical contexts and assume our users' perspectives.
Our goal is always to guide the user towards their natural choice. It’s at this point that even our informed guesses can sometimes fall so far from the point. This is why we make it a point to engage our users straight up from the earliest stages of product development and regularly thereafter.
Simplicity
Solutions can attract noise too. A considerable shakeup here and there of our solutions leaves us with a brushed up product.
Pragmatism
Engage any solution architect who has ever been in line of fire of a fast approaching deadline of a high-stake product and they will tell you how fast most of these awesome values can disappear into the wild blue yonder.
Objectivity, simplicity, and empathy are great and they surely guide us to the best product. But it’s our pragmatism that gets that product out into the hands of our customers. Time and realities of life and business have given us a rare edge on which to balance the three values. Pragmatism is that pivot. That’s what our clients pay for.
Pragmatism has become our double edged sword that cuts through any clichés, overkills, and any decision deadlocks. We will always reach a decision about a given strategy, even if it’s for the time being as context builds. What we will never do though, is to stop or hold back for anything.
